Routine Refresh: Outdoor Edition

Itz Routine Refresh: Outdoor Edition!  You may remember back in July when I posted Routine Refresh: Indoor Edition.  Quite a bit has changed since then, and as the temperature changes, itz time for a routine refresh.  Even though I’m not technically “working out” right now (here’s why), it doesn’t mean I’m not staying active.

The truth is, I love being active.  While sometimes that means running half marathons, other times it means practicing yoga, or lifting weights, at times it can mean taking leisurely strolls outdoors; whatever it is, my body is moving.  adidas was kind enough to send me some gear in order to help refresh my workout routine.  Apart from the clothes and shoes being über comfortable, the neon colors are rocking my world.  I think itz fun because it really highlights the way my body moves!

The official hashtag for this campaign is #neverhibernate.  I love it.  I could never hibernate or be still or inactive for very long.  Never hibernate means MOVING!

I love cartwheels.  They make me feel alive and free.

Being active can be done alone or with family and friends.  You all know how active my family is.  I constantly post pictures of our crazy yoga moves, pyramids, and kickball games.  When we were all together this past summer at my parents’ place in Innsbrook, we had fun playing tennis.  Although Stephanie and I found it more fun to take breaks and practice cartwheel stunt moves…

The adidas Ultimate Tights are awesome.  They’re stretchy and thick and breathable.  They felt good during the hot summer months, but have also helped keep me warm during the chilly temperatures.  And I’m pretty sure I’ll wear them this winter with boots and oversized sweaters.  The Adipure Trainer shoes are SO comfortable.  They’re the most lightweight, yet most cushioned shoes I own.  True story.

While I love moving any which way while I’m outdoors, I love rocking backbends.

I love rocking backbends especially in fun places.  Like I’ve said before, I love moving my body.  For different people that means different things.  You don’t have to do x, y, or z in order to be healthy.  You just need to MOVE!  Moving is marvelous.

Be happy that you’re alive.  Be happy that you have the ability to move – whatever that may mean for you.  Some people don’t have that opportunity.  So instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on what you love to do and what makes YOU happy.

For me, that means practicing yoga with my niece Audrey Rose.  All of my family loves coming up with creative poses, but there’s just something precious about a two year old wanting and insisting to do Tree Pose whenever she sees her aunt “La-La.”

Healthy choices lead to other healthy choices.  This is true in adults and kids alike.  The more junk I eat, the more junk I want to eat.  And then the crummier I feel.  The less I move, the less I want to move.  And then the crummier I feel.  The better I eat and the more I move, the better I feel.  Itz as simple as that.

Tomato Kick Bean Dip Recipe

Juice is good.  Juice is great.  I want to take juice on a date.  Uhhh what?  Ok fine maybe rhyming poems are not my forte, but you know what is?  Super duper easy peasy recipes that include minimal ingredients, are healthy, and taste delicious!  So that is exactly what I have for you today, my friends!  Itz a Tomato Kick Bean Dip recipe.

In working with Glam Media, I was selected to participate in a recipe creation contest with Naked Juice.  Naked Juice is known for their juices, smoothies, and coconut water, but most recently they came out with two brand new flavors in their Power Garden juice line – itz Tomato Kick and Berry Garden.

Naked JuiceIn both of the Power Garden juices, there is a POUND of veggies in every bottle.  Itz an incredibly easy way to get your nutrients on a daily basis.  The website is a lot of fun, too, because it tells you exactly what goes inside each bottle.  For example, in the Tomato Kick bottle there are 2.5 tomatoes, 1/4 red bell pepper, 3/4 celery stalk, 1/5 carrot, 1/2 orange, and a hint of lemon.  So they are literally telling you how to recreate their juices!  Pretty cool, eh?  Itz much easier just to buy a bottle though – heh heh.  Anyway, without further ado, I introduce you to… Tomato Kick Bean Dip!
