Goody Bags for a Two Year Old’s Birthday Party

When William turned one, I did a post on first birthday party favors (swag bags!).  It got a good response, so I decided to do one for William’s second birthday, as well.  Goody bags can be pretty tricky.  I knew I didn’t want to fill the bags with junk as I hate receiving those.  (Seriously, who needs more junk at their house?)  I also didn’t want it to be filled with candy because… well, they’re toddlers, and I find that unnecessary.  So what could I put in the party favors that would be useful, not too expensive, and toddlers would like?

goody bags for a two year olds birthday party

William’s second birthday party was at a gym, so I didn’t feel the need to make his goody bags themed.  That helped since I wasn’t limited at all with what could go inside.  I had about 25 kiddos at his party.  I used clear treat bags; these cost hardly anything and I like that you could see inside them because the kids (or parents) could choose which color of some of the items they want.  Not that it’s a big deal, but choice is nice if possible.

party favor

The main item in the goody bags were bath crayons from Nuby.  These alone could have been the party favors as I feel like they’re pretty substantial.  Nuby has AWESOME bath toys (and other products!), but these bath crayons are especially fun and perfect for toddlers.  William is very into coloring and drawing right now, so bringing crayons into the bathtub is so much fun!

nuby bath crayons

Don’t worry, mommas!  These Nuby bath crayons are easy to clean!  In fact, William has just as much fun wiping away the crayon as he does drawing with them!  (It’s easiest and best to wipe up right away… which William is very happy about!)  Even my niece and nephew who are a few years older than William appreciated these bath crayons.  One pack lasts us a long time, especially when I give William just one crayon at a time to use.  Amazon and Babies R Us both have tons of Nuby bath items, in addition to lots of other great products!

party favor back

Other items in goody bag:

Stickers! What kiddo of any age doesn’t like stickers?  I put a sheet of sports stickers (William’s favorite!) in each goody bag.  Sometimes when we’re out to dinner, I will bring a sheet of stickers for William to play with.  It keeps him busy and is good for his fine motor skills when he works to peel off each sticker.

Pop Toobs!  Again, something else that is so great for toddlers and older kids.  You can pull them apart and they become really long and then push them back together again.  They make a funny noise when you do this.  You can twist them and attach them together if you have more than one, or you can make a circle with just one.  It’s awesome because they really foster kids’ imagination as they can get creative with them.  Pop Toobs come in all different colors, too!

Bubbles!  Another all kid favorite.  I got “Birthday Bubbles” from Bubble World, and they’re extra fun because the top has a little maze with a tiny ball.

Snacks!  Giving out a snack is always a good idea since everyone needs to eat.

earth's best snack bars

Like I said before, I didn’t want to put in candy, so I chose Earth’s Best Organic Sunny Days Snack Bars.  These are great since eight come in a package, so just a few boxes were necessary.  William is a picky eater, but he loves these bars.  Some other reasons why these bars are wonderful:

  • Made with real strawberries
  • No hydrogenated oils – no trans fat
  • Made with no Genetically Engineered Ingredients
  • No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives
  • Contains calcium, B Vitamins, iron, and zinc

Snack bars are perfect to throw in your bag for an on-the-go snack.

So I’d like to think I did a pretty good job with William’s second birthday goody bags.  Several parents told me they appreciated and loved everything in the party favors!

end of summer weekend

…And just like that, summer is coming to an end!  So, not officially, but for me as school starts back again soon,my summer is coming to an end.  Teacher meetings start this week (why so soon?!?!) and kiddos come next week.  That made this the end of summer weekend – good thing it was a fun one!

Friday morning started with a three mile run.

Followed by a selfie.  I was smiling in the picture, but it was a tough run.

Saturday morning also included a run, this time around the lake…

Saturday night was a night out at the baseball game.

Cardinals didn’t bring home a winner, but it was fun nonetheless.

Sunday was a very busy day.  It started off with a visit from my friend Diana and her baby Emily who live in the neighborhood.  Sweet babies.

Then we headed to my parents’ for breakfast as our family friend was in town (Hi Howard!).  Straight from there, we went to a first birthday party.  William took a short nap when we came home, and we got ready for the pool.  We spent a solid three hours there.  William LOVES the water.  He took one short snack break, rocked his Babiators, and ate an Earth’s Best pouch.  Back in the water for the little fish!

He was exhausted by the time we got home, so I quickly fed him dinner, bathed him, and into bed he went!  Now I’m off to enjoy our last few days of summer…

What did you do this weekend?

What to Put in Your Diaper Bag

I like seeing what other people carry in their bags.  Whether it’s their purse, their gym bag, or their diaper bag, I think it’s interesting to see what other women feel they “must have.”  (Maybe I’m nosy?)  Plus, magazines always do sneak peeks of celebrities’ bags which means people definitely find it interesting, right?  Either way, today I’m sharing my own version of What to Put in Your Diaper Bag.

Baby William (should I start calling him toddler William? noooooo!) is 15 months old.  That’s important because the contents of my diaper bag have definitely changed since he was a newborn.  In retrospect, this would have been a fun post series to do every few months or so and see how it changed, but clearly I missed that boat.

Diaper bags can get really heavy really fast.  All moms know that.  I’m an over-packer by nature.  My suitcase is always over the 50 pound limit.  I constantly need to reorganize my bags.  But now I’m confident that I’ve narrowed down my diaper bag just to the essentials.  What you need when you go out with your baby (or 15 month old toddler who you refuse to believe is really a toddler) is listed below:

what to put in diaper bag

Side note: I love the looks of this Kate Spade diaper bag that my sister Stephanie got me when I was pregnant.  However, to be completely honest, I don’t love the actual diaper bag so much.  It doesn’t have a long shoulder strap.  Kate Spade diaper bags now have the “stroller clips” to make it easy to attach to strollers, but I think a shoulder strap would be more useful.  Plus, the bag seems big, bulky, and gets filled quickly… despite my best efforts to only care the bare minimum.

Alright, let’s get started.

Diaper Changing Essentials

diapers bag

  • Changing Pad:  If I have to use this, I wipe it down when I get home because it totally grosses me out.
  • Diapers:  Obviously.  I usually carry at least six which I know is overkill, but I never want to be without a diaper!
  • Wipes: I used to only use Water Wipes, but now use Water Wipes or Huggies.  Huggies are easier to find in stores, and I prefer the “natural” version.  Wipes are also perfect for sticky hands and dirty surfaces.
  • Disposable Diaper Bags: For the really gross diapers or if I can’t throw it out right away.  These also work for dirty outfits.  I used to carry the whole box of these, but that’s silly.  Now I just keep a few and refill my bag as needed.

Odds & Ends

what's in my dipaer bag

  • Babiators: You never know when you’ll need some sunnies!
  • Wubbanub: I don’t like William to have his binky in his mouth at all times, but when he needs it for comfort, I give it to him.  Wubbanubs are the only binkines he will take!  He loves his giraffe and elephant!
  • Burp Cloth / Bib: William rarely leaves bibs on anymore, but this aden + anais burp cloth can double as both since it has a little snap.  Though truthfully, I use it more often as either a “lovey” for William to hold on to (he’s not attached to a particular “lovey,” just his Wubbanub), or to help cover me if I need to nurse William in public.  I’ve never used or liked a true nursing cover, so this is lightweight and perfect.  It also eliminates the need for carrying a burp cloth, bib, AND nursing clover.  And it’s cute.
  • Squeeze Book: (I didn’t know what else to call it.)  A few toys are essential.  I love this one because it has a handle for easy gripping, bright-colored pictures, and it even squeaks.  William is amused.  Good for the car, too.
  • Lift the Flap Book:  Books are such a great source of entertainment!  I want William to grow up learning to be entertained by books (instead of technology).  That is probably the teacher in me.  My friend got William this book from the dollar bin at Target!  He loves it!
  • Extra Onesie: Because babies are always messy or having blowouts… When he was much younger, I would have a couple extra.  He seems to be cleaner now…

Teethers

teethers diaper bag

It seems as though William is always teething, so teethers are forever necessary.

  • Sophie Teether: The perfect travel teether, not as big as the full size Sophie.
  • Nuby Safari Loop: I bought this as a new toy for our Arizona trip and William loves it!  It’s fun to go through the animals and make noises, plus there are several different textures for him to hold, grab, and teeth on.
  • Zoli Teether Stick:  Ok truth: I bought this because William loves finding and chewing on Zoey’s rawhides.  Since that’s disgusting, I wanted to find him a stick-like teether.  He likes this!
  • Econobum Bag: This was a gift from a friend and was intended to be used as a reusable sack for dirty clothes, but I prefer it to keep William’s teethers and toys clean in this bag.  It was especially perfect while traveling to keep all his toys together!

Sippy Cup

nuby sippy cup

  • Nuby Flip n Sip with 360 Weighted Straw Cup: I received this as a Nuby Parent Blogger, but it’s PERFECT for the diaper bag!  It has a flip top which keeps the straw clean.  It doesn’t spill and it’s BPA-free.  The weight at the bottom of the straw is really cool.  It allows William to drink from any angle and reach the water even when there’s not much left.  This was especially clutch when William was learning to use sippy cups as he would always tilt the cup forward to him to try to take a drink.  Obviously, with a straw you don’t do that, so this cup was a good learning cup.

Non Toxic Essentials for Momma & Baby

nontoxic products in diaper bag for momma and baby

As you know, I’m a consultant for Ava Anderson Non Toxic.  (Email me for free shipping.)  Since my diaper bag doubles as my purse most days, I keep a few of my favorite non toxic products with us at all times.

  • Diaper Cream:  By far, the absolute best diaper cream ever.  It can double as lotion when needed!
  • Sunscreen:  Ava Anderson’s Non Toxic sunscreen always makes the “top ten” or whatever lists.  There are too many lists of sunscreens to avoid.  You’re safe with this one and it doesn’t make your kiddo stink like sunscreen!
  • Lip Gloss:  Because sometimes momma needs a little color on her lips!
  • Boo Boo Stick: One of my FAVORITE Ava Anderson products.  Perfect for minor scrapes, burns, or bug bites – for babies, toddlers, kids, and adults alike!  When we’re out and about, I put it on William’s little patches of eczema.  My niece Audrey uses it whenever she has a “boo boo.”  Everyone loves it!
  • Perfume:  Because nobody likes the smell of dried milk…
  • Lip Balm:  Keep those lips hydrated!

Snacks

snacks

NOBODY likes to be hungry!  This goes for babies and toddlers, too!  Always keep a couple of snacks stashed away for emergency situations!

  • Earth’s Best Pouches: William doesn’t get pouches often, but when he does, they are organic and fruits and vegetables only.  No other nonsense.
  • Puffs: I store puffs in a formula container.  I like them better than those toddler bowls where they get out the snack themselves because this is completely sealed.  William loves to play with the actual container and open and close it, so this serves as a snack and a toy!
  • Blue Diamond Almonds: Momma needs snacks, too!  Blue Diamond almonds come in the best flavors, the container is compact for a diaper bag, and the almonds pack a nice protein punch!
  • Baby Mum Mums: Another snack option for William.

Let’s go back to these Blue Diamond almonds for a minute.  William and I have had several adventures throughout the summer.  One of our favorites is definitely the park.  I got hungry and needed a snack at our last visit, so I whipped out my handy dandy package of almonds.  Problem solved, hunger satiated!

First Birthday Party Favors | Baby Swag Bags

When you’re planning a kid’s birthday party, you mustn’t forget about party favors!  Actually, there’s a debate among parents whether or not party favors are really necessary or not, as some kids come to expect something when they go to a birthday to celebrate someone else’s birthday party, but let’s save that debate for another day.  When I had William’s first birthday party, I knew I wanted to have party favors of some sort.  William had a Red Carpet Event theme for his 1st birthday party.  Some themes lend themselves easily to party favors, and I knew I did want to try to stick to the theme if at all possible. Hmm…

Baby Swag Bags!  Yes, William’s first birthday party favors would be baby swag bags!  Now what do baby swag bags entail?  Well, I wanted to include items that would actually get used by the babies.  No junk.  Mom-approved.  Most of the babies were all around the age of one, maybe a few a couple months younger or older, but mostly the same age, which helped in planning what would be given as party favors.  So what do you put in baby party favor bags?

what to put in first birthday party favor bags

photo (and others in post) by A Family Affair Photography

Before we get into the actual contents, let’s talk for a quick second about putting the bags together.  I bought very inexpensive clear bags and closed them with the twisty ties that came with them.  My sister printed labels that were similar to William’s invitations and my mom attached ribbon.  (They always know how to make things look way better than I do!)  It was simple, yet it showed what was inside, and looked cute!

partyfavor bags

Ok, funny story:  So I put these together at my house and my dad stopped over and brought them to his house.  To my mother’s dismay, they would not stand straight up (they did when I put them together – promise!), so she made my older brother Jason untie them all and fix them.  Clearly they look better this way.  My mom always has the touch that’s needed and is so attentive to even the smallest details! Thank you, Mom!

party favor bags

Definitely better!

Alright, let’s get to the goods!  All of the items were donated by the wonderful companies who I very carefully hand-selected to be part of William’s special celebration.  They knew the importance of putting together party favor bags that would be baby and momma approved and would actually get used!  The items I chose can be bought in bulk which is perfect for parties and keeps the cost down!

What do you put in first birthday party favor bags? Aka SWAG BAGS

Nuby Wash or Toss Straw Cups

nuby sippycup pack

I’ve always been a fan of Nuby from their teethers to their bath toys to their sippy cups.  All babies use sippy cups, and I’ve learned that many parents buy hundreds (slight exaggeration) of sippy cups to find the “best” one or the one that their child will drink from.  Also, there is some discussion between the spout vs. the straw sippy cup, but some speech pathologists believe that straw sippy cups help children strengthen their muscles in their face and in their mouth which is beneficial to proper speech. (Another debate for another day.)  I went with the straw sippy cup instead of the spout because at some point in time babies will learn how to drink from a straw, and my personal opinion is the earlier the better.

Linking up with Katie today!

nuby sippycups

These Nuby Wash or Toss Straw Cups are perfect for party favor bags for several reasons.  For one thing, they come in packs of four in the colors you see above.  (Another reason I liked using the clear bags was so parents could choose which color cup they wanted!)  These cups are easy to hold, have snap on straw lids, are BPA free, and are sturdy enough to reuse… or inexpensive enough to toss.

Baby Mum-Mums

mummums

A box of Baby Mum-Mums is just a few dollars and contain 12 individually wrapped packages with two mum-mums in each.  Mum-Mums are great for six month olds all the way up to toddlers.  (They actually have toddler mum-mums, but this baby version works for both!  My niece Audrey still loves “sharing” William’s mum-mums!)  Mum-Mums come in several flavors; I added three packs to each party favor bag.  Baby mum-mums are a good first food as they help babies work on their eye-hand coordination and dissolves easily.  Even though William knows how to eat, I still give him them if we’re out and about.  They also work well as a cracker to use with dips or spreads for babies. (This is how I introduced peanut butter to William!)

Baby Mum-Mums are baked with no preservatives, contain no artificial colors or flavors, and are gluten, egg, and peanut free.  See? Perfect for all!

Earth’s Best Organic Pouches

earthsbest pouches

We’ve been long time fans of Earth’s Best!  We started with their oatmeal and then moved to some of their jarred baby food.  Now, we’re a fan of their pouches.  They come in many different flavors and are perfect for on the go.  Even moms who make all their own baby food, uses pouches from time to time.  I put just one in every baby’s favor bag and many of my friends exclaimed how much their baby enjoyed the pouch!

Yet another reason why I love all three of the aforementioned brands and products is that they can be found easily in retail stores or online.  They are carried anywhere from Walmart to Target to Whole Foods to local groceries.

The last part of William’s party favor bags didn’t actually go inside the bags…

babiators box

They had their own special box because I wanted parents to be able to pick which color Babiators they wanted, and I wanted them to get their baby’s picture taken with the Babiators on the red carpet!  Babiators are literally the cutest baby sunglasses ever…

babiators sunglasses

Baby + Aviators = Babiators

Babiators are SAFE as they provide 100% UVA & UVB protection, DURABLE as they have flexible frames and shatter-resistant lenses, GUARANTEED as they replace them if lost or broken, and AWESOME with ten great colors and two sizes! Cool, right?!

They also have polarized Babiators, Aces (sunglasses for kids 7-14), submariners swim goggles (so cute!!!), rocket packs, and rx glasses.  They’ve got you covered!

Now if only I could get baby William to keep his stylish shades on for longer than a half a second…

Every swag bag, red carpet event, and baby definitely needs Babiators!

Food Fitness Fashion Fun Focus – Baby Edition

I have some ridiculously cute pictures of baby William to share with you, and instead of this being a total photo dump, I figured I would link up with Clare for five things Friday and organize the post into five categories: Food Fitness Fashion Fun Focus – Baby Edition.  The star of today:

Processed with VSCOcam with b1 preset

My precious baby.  I snapped that last night during bath time, and it didn’t really fit into the categories for today, but I had to share.  His little banana curls in the back are exactly how mine used to be, and he has lashes for days!  Such a beautiful baby (biased, I know, but still true!), and he just gets more fun everyday as he continues to learn new things.  Alright, onto our five categories for today.

Food

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

I gave William a pouch about a week ago for the first time, and he LOVED it!  I don’t want to get in the habit of feeding him pouches on a regular basis, but in a pinch and when he didn’t seem interested in other food, it totally worked.  I do feel good about giving him Earth’s Best pouches because they are organic and have nothing but real food in them.  William loves the few he’s had!  I’d like to make my own pouches at some point.. when I can find time.

Fitness

13months

Ok, maybe calling it fitness for a baby is a bit of a stretch, but……… WILLIAM STARTED TAKING STEPS!!!!!!  Clearly this isn’t even a picture of him taking steps, but that’s because my arms are usually reaching for him or I’m clapping and cheering wildly.  Doesn’t he look so old here, too?  Ahh, I can’t believe he’s almost walking!  Each day he takes a couple teeny tiny steps, and I know just know he will take off soon!

Fashion

All little dudes should wear headbands, am I right, or am I right?  Maybe not all the time, but William’s hair in front is so long that sometimes it goes into his eyes.  I try to tame the curls up so they are out of his face, but when that doesn’t work I throw on this headband.  Actually it’s called a “warrior band;” I ordered it from Kindred Oak.

Fun

carly school

Playtime with his girlfriend Carly!  Their teacher sent us several pictures from school on  Thursday, and I just love them together!  They’re happy and playing, then William is telling Carly not to cry, then he’s trying to make her feel better by holding her hand, and she’s not quite so sure about it.  They love each other.  Future boyfriend girlfriend!

This picture is from my mom, William’s “Yaya.”  Here, he is learning about numbers and colors on this toy that’s over thirty years old!  This was the first time he sat at the “big kid” table, and my mom said he didn’t want to leave!  I’m ok with him having lessons from Yaya everyday there!  Teach him everything you know, Mom!

Earth’s Best Organic Baby Food

I had all these great plans to exclusively breastfeed and make all of William’s baby food. Breastfeeding is going great (despite the rough beginning), but the making all of his baby food is not going so great.  Actually, I’ve never made his food.  My mom and Stephanie made all of it at the beginning.  And then I resorted to jars.  It’s funny (well, not really) that I feel the need to say I “resorted” to jars.  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with jarred food, but for some reason it makes me feel like less of a super-mom. I assume it’s similar to how moms feel if breastfeeding doesn’t work out for them and they supplement with formula.  My motto has always been, “As long as you’re feeding your baby, you’re a good mom.”  I need to listen to my own words because they really are true.

Anyway, since making all of William’s baby food just was not practical for me as I’m an incredibly busy, working full-time mom, I needed to buy jars.  I wanted to feel good about what William was eating, so I made the decision to do all organic.  I, myself, don’t eat all organic, but while William is a baby, I want him eating organically (just my opinion).  When I bought fruits and vegetables for my mom and my sister to make the food, I bought organic fruits and vegetables.  At six months old, I introduced oatmeal mixed with my breast milk for William’s first food, I chose Earth’s Best whole grain oatmeal.

eating6

such a cute little guy at six months old!

William did so well and still continues to do well with and enjoy the oatmeal, that I reached out to Earth’s Best to tell them just that.  Especially when he wasn’t tolerating food so great, he always did fine with oatmeal.  Earth’s Best kindly sent me a package to review of various items.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Puffs!  William loves these organic yogurt puffs!  I’ve bought one other kind of puffs, but he really does prefer these. They are a bit “puffier,” if you will, than other puffs which I’ve found to be on the flatter side. Earth’s Best also sent me Pop Snax Veggie Crisps, but we haven’t tried them yet since they’re a bit harder. The puffs melt in your mouth which make them perfect for little babies!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

When I first introduce a new food, I always mix it with oatmeal since William is familiar with that taste.  He does really enjoy apples and pears.  Even though these are labeled as “first foods,” I still give them to William as he likes the purees.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Something else I really like about Earth’s Best is that their products are available pretty much everywhere.  Local groceries, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and Babies R Us, just to name a few.  And while organic foods can be more expensive, if you buy in bulk, they’re much more reasonable. For example, a twelve-pack of the first apples at Target are just $8.99.  That’s less than a dollar a jar!

Earth’s Best also sent a package of wipes.  Made with a soft, gentle texture that is gentler on babies’ bottoms and the environment and with natural aloe vera and vitamin E formula, the Earth’s Best Chlorine Free Diapers are part of the new #EBSpecialDelivery campaign, where you can win a year’s supply of diapers and wipes! Hypoallergenic, unscented, and alcohol-free. Tushie-approved!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Does this look like a baby who loves Earth’s Best foods or what?! I couldn’t get the carrots in his mouth fast enough! He was literally coming toward me as I brought the spoon to his mouth!

I’ve already bought several more jars of Earth’s Best food.  Oh, that’s another thing: jars. I love that their food comes in jars versus plastic. I try to minimize my plastic usage, especially with William. The glass jars are perfect to reuse, as well.  All in all, I’m very happy and would highly recommend Earth’s Best products for all babies! They have some a wide array of products that William will be able to eat their food for a long time. I feel confident in feeding him their food, and that’s important for little tummies!

Here is some additional information about the benefits of Earth’s Best foods:

food

  • Breakfast: Cinnamon banana nut pancake made with Love Grown Foods chia and quinoa super oats topped with coconut oil, bananas, and syrup.
  • Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, and fig balsamic dressing.  Not going to lie… I was hungry right after, so I made a bowl of oatmeal.  At school, I keep those individual oatmeal packages in my closet for emergency hunger situations. As good as my salad was, yesterday was one of those times.
  • Dinner: Salad, roasted asparagus, grilled zucchini and squash, hamburger with mushrooms, french fries, and garlic bread. Thanks, Mom and Dad!

What have you been eating lately?  Moms, did/do you make all your baby’s food?

5 New Things to Love

Being off work for winter break has been fun. Sadly, I go back today. Since I had almost a couple of weeks off, I had lots of time to do some online shopping… which is becoming a habit… a very dangerous expensive habit.  I did all my holiday shopping online this year, which is how this got started.  (Way too hard to get out to a million different stores with a baby and battle crazy lines around the holidays.  Online was fantastic!)  I’ve found some great new-to-me products and sites that I want to share with you today.

Linking up with Clare’s Five Things Friday.

1.  Mindy Mae’s Market

mindymaes

One of my friends introduced me to Mindy Mae’s Market and I instantly placed an order!  The clothes are cute and so reasonably priced that I couldn’t resist.  From left to right, I bought the Polka Dot Chambray Button Down, Lounge Raglan Sweatshirt in Red Stripe, and Faux Leather Leggings (these are apparently a thing, right?).  My total was right around $50 which qualified me for free shipping – wahoo!  Plus, you can pay with PayPal which makes it even easier.

2.  iHerb

cleaning

Ok, so iHerb isn’t new-to-me, but the products I ordered are.  iHerb is awesome for so many reasons.  Their prices are the lowest, they’ve got a HUGE variety on tons of products, always free shipping over $20, and you can save an extra 10% on orders over $40.  Plus, they ship crazy fast.  I got my confirmation email and an email stating my order had been shipped on the same day.  No waiting around!  For the items I ordered this time, I was familiar with the brands, just not the specific items I purchased.

  • Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Multi-Surface Everyday Cleaner in Lemon Verbena Scent: I use and really like their hand soap and am interested to see how the cleaner works.
  • Method All-Purpose Natural Surface Cleaner in Clementine: I use their dish soap, and my sister loves this surface cleaner.
  • Earth’s Best Tender Care Chlorine-Free Diapers: Earth’s Best is the brand of oatmeal I feed William.  He’s been soaking through his current diapers overnight, and I’ve tried two different brands, so I’m really hoping he stays dry at night in these!
  • BabyGanics The Grime Fighter All Purpose Surface Wipes Fragrance Free: I used to use this dish soap to wash William’s bottles and my pump parts when he was super tiny (now I use Method). I like how it’s fragrance-free, naturally safe, and nontoxic. I plan to use these to wipe down William’s toys.

3. Christen Michel Skin Care Line

christenmichael

When I attended the MizzFit Boxing at Sweat event, I was introduced to the Christen Michel Glow Skin Care Line.  We were gifted the Replenish spritz, and I loved it right away.  She sent me a couple of other samples to try out, and I’m definitely a fan.  The skin care line is designed for those in need of brightening and texture correction.  It’s paraben-free, cruelty-free, no dye, no faux fragrance, and no harsh chemicals.  The prices are average; they’re more expensive than drugstore products, yet less expensive than the really pricey stuff which makes them very reasonable, especially for the quality!  I used them for a week straight and noticed a difference in my face!

  • Strawberry Crush Polisher & BrightenerThis is the most  gentle yet effective exfoliating cleanser I’ve ever used.  And it smells amazing!  Normally I can’t exfoliate my face on a daily basis, but I was able to with this.  I liked using it in the morning to wake me up and brighten my skin for the day.
  • Replenished Daily SpritzI first used this after I had taken the boxing class because I didn’t feel like redoing my makeup. It definitely gave me the pick-me-up my face needed!  Platinum, oxygen, gold and silver are used to replenish your radiance & hydration all day as it may fade due to stress, exhaustion, too much caffeine or travel.
  • SkinQuench MoisturizerI use this oil-free cream at night before I go to bed. Especially in the winter, my face gets really dry and this cream feel great.

One or more of these products would make a lovely gift for your mom, grandma, sister, or friend.  You can buy gift cards or  “glow boxes.”  Treat yourself – your face will thank you!

5. Victory’s Grin

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

Oh, you didn’t really think I’d do the whole post without a picture of baby William did you? 😉  One of my sister’s sweet friends, Mandy, sent us this Victory’s Grin “You Roll Poo Poo-trol” Baby Block Game.  The description reads, “Tired of being the one always on diaper “doody?”  Now, when “doody” calls, just roll the block to see who is on Poo Poo-trol!”  There are several different cute patterns to choose from, and it’s a fun, soft, squishable, tactile-pleasing block for baby.  There are even more items available on their Facebook page.  This would make a very unique and fun gift for a baby shower!

Any new-to-you items YOU want to tell ME about? What should I check out next?
