Spring Break Starts in Style

One of the perks of being a teacher?  Forever spring breaks!  If you know a teacher, I’m sure you’ve heard them talk about how they love breaks as much as the kiddos do!  I can attest to that!  As much as I love my students, my job, and teaching, it’s nice to be able to wake up with no agenda or time schedule.  And the fact that it’s finally starting to feel like spring around here just sweetens the deal.

Baby in sunglasses?  Oh yes.  We’ve gone on walks every evening this week that it was warm enough, and have been absolutely loving this warm weather!  Today I’m actually sending William to his school and I’m taking a day for myself since I literally never get to do that.  Not that I mind devoting every spare second to William, but the pampering will be nice.  My plans?  Go for a run, take a long shower, get a manicure and pedicure, and get a massage.  Yeah, I’m excited to say the least!

I told a friend that I felt guilty for sending William to school when I was off, and she reminded me that I need to take care of myself in order to be the best mom for William.  I do take care of myself, but this will be an extra special treat.  My wonderful co-workers/friends at school actually gifted me a massage and mani/pedi.  I told you, I love my job!  A massage plus getting my nails done is like the ultimate pampering for me.  I love it so much, probably because it happens so infrequently.  But hey, I’ll take it!

And this little man is just kickin’ off spring break in style, as always!

the sunglasses lasted a maximum of two seconds… just enough time for a photo!

How often do you pamper yourself?  Do you get a spring break?  Any plans?

  1. Wow, this is extremely rude. How dare you tell another mother how to be a good parent, and how dare you encourage guilt in this situation? It is so important for new moms to have “me time” every once in a while– it’s not as if she never spends time with her child. Sounds like you might need some pampering yourself?

  2. Yes, take a little mama time! 🙂 I’m bad about that myself, but we’ve gotta’ recharge our batteries. I was going to ask how you got him to wear sunglasses, but I see from you comment at the bottom that he’s about as into them as Ethan. They come off as quickly as they go on!

  3. Ooooooh enjoy this day!! You SO DESERVE it, mama!! Every mom needs that time, and for anyone to think they don’t is fooling herself. 🙂

I can’t wait to see which colors you choose! What a perfect start to a break that you so need & totally deserve. I’m so happy you get this time <3 <3 Wish you were coming to SLC too though! xo

  4. Hey linz! I know it’s been a while life has been crazy with the new baby. I just wanted to let you know I started a YouTube channel and have been vlogging. I’d love for you to check it out. Youtube.com/c/thekickashkitchen see you sunday!

  5. Love those sunglasses! I was just going to ask how you get him to keep those on 🙂 At least you snapped a few cute pictures before he was done with them! My son goes in streaks of loving sunglasses and then refusing to wear anything… glasses, hats, etc.

I guess I pamper myself by making time to workout each day or, if I’m getting crazy, I paint my nails!
