I’ve got to brag on baby William today. He’s amazing. Aside from being the cutest, smartest, funniest, etc. baby ever, he’s also THRIVING in the growing department (those were his pediatrician’s exact words actually!). Let’s back up and I’ll tell you all about our day at the doctor yesterday.
So William is three and a half weeks old and had a doctor appointment yesterday. Two weeks ago, he weighed 5 pounds 8 ounces. (Reminder: he was born at 5 pounds 2 ounces three weeks early.) We were so curious as to what he would weigh as he has been eating extremely well and has grown noticeably bigger.
What are you going to weigh today, little baby?
My mom came with us to the doctor and I love how she captured this moment of us staring at each other. I love that I’m the most important person in the world to this little baby right now (well, and his daddy, but since I’m his food supply, I think that puts me at number one for now hehe). I love how adorable William is and how much more alert he’s become. I digress. I took him out to the scale to be weighed and excitedly waited…
Yeah, that’s right! 7 pounds 2.8 ounces, so the nurse called him 7 pounds 3 ounces! That’s a HUGE weight gain! Our pediatrician said that babies typically gain between six and eight ounces a week in this stage. William obviously surpassed that by a landslide! Way to go, baby!!!
I was SO excited about his numbers! Can you tell?
Proud momma status, for sure!
The doctor was very happy with William’s weight gain and everything else, so we left incredibly pleased and proud of our little guy. We got him dressed and strapped him in his carseat, which for some reason, sometimes make for the cutest pictures!
This carseat picture reminded me of William’s very first carseat picture which I don’t think I ever shared here, but itz amazing at the difference that just a couple of weeks can make for a newborn. His first carseat picture was during his first week and on the way to one of his [multiple] sessions with the best photographer ever.
Isn’t the difference incredible?! Baby William is filling out and is such a BIG boy!
