30 Weeks Pregnant | Baby Registry

30 weeks pregnant, seriously?  I cannot believe that.  That’s like so… PREGNANT!  Eek!  Lots of exciting stuff going on over here.  Baby room is coming together – itz painted, itz got furniture, and baby registry is made and baby showers are being planned.  Itz gettin’ real!  Let’s slow things down a minute and discuss my thirty-week pregnant bumpdate.

30 weeks

Baby Itz: 30 Weeks

Baby’s size? Head of cabbage.

Maternity clothes? Best things ever.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Sleep has been better than last week, but still waking up between two to four times a night to pee.

Best moment this week: The absolute AMAZING response I got on my post: Body Image During Pregnancy.

Miss anything? Not really.

Movement: Itz crazy – since Baby Itz has grown so big, now I can feel him in two different places in my stomach at once when he moves!

Food Cravings: No cravings, just eating a lot, in general.

Anything making you queasy or sick? No, thank goodness.

Gender: BOY BOY BOY!!!!

Labor Signs: None, not that I would know what those feel like anyway!

Symptoms: Still getting over my little sickness I faced last week, but much better. Just a lingering cough – nothing having to do with pregnancy.

Belly Button – in or out?  Itz in, but sometimes I can see it through tight shirts, if that makes sense.

Wedding Rings – on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? Happy!

Looking Forward To: Jonny and I are starting our baby classes tomorrow!  Itz three classes combined into a six-week session: Labor & Delivery, Breastfeeding Basics, and Newborn Care.  Should be interesting!

30 weeks pregnant

Funny story about the above picture.  My friend took it yesterday of me at school and when I was hugging my kids good-bye for the day, one of my usually quieter kiddos said, “Mrs. Itzkowitz?  You’re beginning to show!”  Haha it was so cute!

Now let’s briefly discuss the baby registry.  I decided to register at Pottery Barn and Buy Buy Baby.  I figured I’d get the basics at Buy Buy Baby, and get my bedding and decorative items from Pottery Barn.  It didn’t quite work that way.  I registered for very few items from Pottery Barn and was a little disappointed by their selection. I know they have more online, but we were in the store where it didn’t feel like there was very many “boy” decor items.  Buy Buy Baby was better and we definitely registered for all the essentials.  Thank goodness my mom and my sister were there because I was clueless!  Stephanie was literally pulling things off the shelf as I was scanning and my mom was chiming in with her expertise, as well.  Jonny chose to pass on the experience, but I registered for some green and some orange washcloths that I know he’d approve of! (Miami colors, of course!)

Where did/will you register? What are some “must have” items for my registry?

  1. I’m almost 30 weeks, too and I love that I can feel her move in opposite corners of my belly at the same time! I’m also starting to get a few serious rolls where my whole belly seems to turn over. It’s so much fun! 🙂

The first go around, I registered at Buy Buy Baby- LOVE their selection. This time, second baby, I’m not registering, but I’m certain I’ll take a trip through Buy Buy Baby to pick up a few items.

    So excited for you!

  2. I’m pretty sure Randy wasn’t present for the baby registering, but he did have an opinion about the diaper bag–not pink.
Buy Buy Baby has a HUGE selection of EVERYTHING! It can be overwhelming.
When choosing your gear, keep in mind that everyone has opinions and their wants and needs don’t necessarily coincide with yours. Go with your gut, even if it’s not the popular vote.

  3. 30 weeks already?! Holy cow! I can’t wait to see the nursery set up! Sounds like you are really moving along quite well and have lots of help with the registry. My cousin is pregnant and I am overwhelmed just thinking of all the things in the store she needs! Pottery Barn is a place I wouldn’t think to even register. We don’t have a Buy Buy Baby but have a Babies R Us so that’s the typical place to register around here.

  4. I can’t believe you are 30 weeks! It feels like it was yesterday when you made such an exciting announcement. Can’t wait for baby play dates in a few short months!

  5. I registered at Babies R Us because it was the only store near us although I wish I had also done a target registry. If I can give on recommendation, for a diaper pail (if you need one) go with the Ubbi, it uses regular garbage bags no special bags needed and it keeps the smell contained.

Registering is extremely overwhelming, glad your mom and sister could help you!

  6. Robeez socks are the absolute BEST! Love love love the boppy newborn lounger. If you need bottles, Comotomo is a fantastic brand! Mustela baby skincare products – especially their shampoo and body cream are great for any skin related issues (which a LOT of babies have!). And SWADDLE!! There are several good ones, but our personal favorites are the Woombie and The Miracle Blanket – and we’ve tried a lot! The Fisher Price Kick and Play Piano Gym – so great!

  7. HAHAHA. The washcloth colors. Love it!!!

Definitely register for an Ergo! And the insert–it was helpful for the first 2.5 months to have the insert! Get the Halo sleep slacks if you plan on doing swaddling! (get the newborn size and size 1 both with wings). Also, register for the mam binkies –if your baby likes binkies, those are the best! Also, LOTS of burp cloths. I totally forgot about those, so it was nice when people gave us some! A swing (fisher price is best), and bouncy/vibrating chair are both so nice to have!

And diapers! We love pampers swaddlers best.

  8. He’s getting ready to make his appearance! You’re on the home stretch! SO excited for you.
My must haves for baby, are 2 of the same lovie blankets he will become attached to and carry for many years to come (my kids still adore, carry and be without theirs) get 2 in case you loose one or need to wash one. I didn’t mind spending more on these items –my kids have Little Giraffe blankets.

  9. I was soooo disappointed with Pottery Barn also! The selection was not that great and even worse, the people working were rude and not helpful at all. I ended up adding a few things online but everything else is from BBB or BRUS!

  10. Now I had a great experience at PB Kids! We went with neutral bedding from there (grey and white), and I’ve added boy stuff in terms of storage and decor items. we did Babies R Us for the baby essentials.

It was SOOOOOO helpful to look at registries for friends who have had kids recently. You can get so many good ideas. Stores offer checklists, but I think they can be a little over the top.

  11. It’s going by so fast!!! My favorite item, aside from the usual suspects, was our video monitor. It’s priceless!!! It has helped us see if they are crying because they are sad, hurt, or just fussy!

  12. I would definitely recommend registering for the Kick and Play Piano play mat. It’s hilarious when they stare at themselves and kick away! My twins also loves wubbanub pacifiers. They still use them and they’re 11 months old now. Diapers are always good too!
