28 weeks pregnant = 7 months pregnant! What the what?! That’s third trimester, baby! I can’t believe there are three months left – Baby Itz will be here before we know it!
Baby Itz: 28 Weeks
Baby’s size? Eggplant.
Maternity clothes? Living in them and loving them!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: My pillowcase to the pregnancy pillow that Jonny bought me months ago finally came! It just arrived last night, so I still need to wash it before I bring it to bed. I’ll use it one of these days and I’m sure it will be awesome!
Best moment this week: Walking into the baby room and seeing all his furniture!
Miss anything? Not really.
Movement: SO active! Good thing Jonny has already bought every jersey to represent our favorite sports teams! That’s the Cardinals, University of Miami, and Mizzou. And of course he’s got a Chelsea soccer onesie and a Jamaica jersey (from the in-laws!).
Food Cravings: No cravings.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.
Gender: BOY BOY BOY!!!!
Labor Signs: None, not that I would know what those feel like anyway!
Symptoms: My back hasn’t been as sore in the evenings and hopefully I’m not jinxing myself by saying that. Other symptoms include major “pregnancy brain.” Itz a real thing, y’all. I can’t remember everything. Lists are my friend.
Belly Button – in or out? In, but itz getting tight. It’ll pop one of these days!
Wedding Rings – on or off? On!
Happy or Moody? Happy.
Looking Forward To: We are going to Mexico on Friday! We could call it our “Babymoon,” but really my older brother is getting married. It will definitely be our last vacation sans baby – so many changes coming our way! Can’t wait to get out of this frigid weather and get my pregnant belly on the beach under the hot sun!
Now let’s talk about that orange drink glucose test that everyone speaks of around this time during their pregnancy. I had mine last Wednesday which was when I officially turned 28 weeks and had a doctor appointment. The taste? Totally not bad!
Yes, of course itz super sweet (I mean, hello, itz got 50 grams of sugar in it!). I had read plenty of blogs saying the taste wasn’t terrible; I was so curious to try it! It tasted like flat orange soda. It seemed like there was a tiny bit of carbonation in it – not sure if that’s true or not, but that’s how it tasted to me. You have to drink it within five minutes, so I basically chugged the small bottle. By the end, it began to burn my throat a little, maybe because it was SO sweet.
Also, you have to fast two hours before you drink and then you drink the orange drink and get your blood drawn an hour later. I was a bit worried about “not being able to eat” for three straight hours, but I made sure to eat a pretty protein packed meal right before the three hour time period and that held me over just fine. (I had a large bowl of plain Greek yogurt, fruit, and granola.) When I got to the doctor’s office and was waiting to have my blood drawn, it seemed as though Baby Itz was extra active!
All that sugar! I literally watched my belly while waiting for the doctor because I could see his movement through my shirt – so fun!
What did you think of the orange drink? Did/will you take a “babymoon?”
