23 Weeks Pregnant | A Round Bump

Second snow day in a row here in St. Louis!  That’s another day off work for me, so I’ve got no place to go and am quite happy about it.  Yesterday the temperature did not ever get above zero – crazy cold!  So I’ve had plenty of time to put together this 23 weeks pregnant post.  And guess what? My bump is finally starting to round out and feel and look like an actual bump!  Check it out:

23 weeks

A round bump, right??  Even my friends (I’m looking at YOU, Diana!) keep telling me how much more I’m showing each time I see them! 🙂

Baby Itz: 23 Weeks

Baby’s size? Mango

Maternity clothes? Not yet, however… I finally bought some!  Since I’ve been literally living in leggings, I feel like I’ve been wearing my same long sweaters and shirts over and over again.  Victoria Secret had a huge sale, so I bought a long sleeve long shirt (not maternity) in size large.  Well, it was delivered and is way too big – like really wide, so I decided I needed to buy some actual maternity tops.  I ordered a few from Old Navy and am waiting for their arrival.  One of my friends gave me a tub of maternity clothes last night to borrow which is very much appreciated!

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good… not as awesome as the past few weeks, but not terrible by any means.

Best moment this week: Jonny and I signed up for our first baby class!  A local hospital offers a 3-in-1 class of their three most popular classes: Labor and Delivery, Newborn Basics, and Breastfeeding.  Itz a six-week class and we will start in February.

Miss anything? No.

Movement: YES!  Lots of movement, more and more, and not just when I’m laying down anymore.

Food Cravings: No cravings, just loving all food.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: BOY BOY BOY!!!!

Labor Signs: None, not that I would know what those feel like anyway!

Symptoms: Some lower back pain again when I sit or lay in the same position for too long.  The more I move, the better it is.  It really just acts up in the evening time, so I try and do lots of stretches which helps for the time being.

Belly Button – in or out?  In.

Wedding Rings – on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? Happy.

Looking Forward To: Tomorrow’s 24-week doctor appointment! Not sure if I’ll get an ultrasound or not, but I still enjoy my doctor’s appointments as itz a way to confirm everything is going well and ask any questions I may have.

What else do you want me to cover during these weekly bumpdates? Happy Tuesday! Stay warm, friends!

    • itz so funny how everyone grows differently! i thought i would totally blow up, so i’ve been really surprised at how long itz taken for my bump to pop!

    • i got really stir crazy last night which is when i picked up my friend and we went out to get ice cream… even in the negative temps! lol

  1. You look great and so so happy!! My mom is convinced my daughter was a happy newborn because of my love and happiness with being pregnant! How’s the baby’s room coming along? Any thought into names yet or is that going to be a secret? =)

    • hehe thanks, savanna! i hope baby itz is a super happy baby, too!! as far as the room… well…… we cleaned it out… and that’s about as far as we got. i suppose we should schedule the painter and actually order some furniture!! haha and yes we figured out a name, but i’m not sharing on here! 😉

    • that’s so funny you mention GAP! in the tub of maternity clothes my [pretty teeny] friend gave me, GAP jeans fit me the best and weren’t the tightest even though they were the same “size” as others! i think there are two pairs in there!!

  2. Yay for snow days! We don’t get those here in Charleston, however schools were on a 3 hour delay this morning for freezing temps. Ha! I can remember having to trudge through the snow in boots, snow suit, etc, to wait for a school bus that didn’t even have heat on it! My how times change….
I bet you are so happy for your doc appt tomorrow. You look absolutely radiant and your bump is too cute. 🙂

    • thanks, girl! 🙂 i feel like we never got called off when i was in school either!! and we just found out we are off for day #3 tomorrow!!

  3. Yes you have popped…in the cutest of ways of course!! I used to love when the appointments went down to every 2 weeks so I could listen more and more to the heartbeats!! Yay for friends with maternity clothes!! Such a lifesaver!

  4. You look great! I remember being so excited to finally look pregnant the first time. The second time, I “popped” even earlier and was not as excited. Enjoy the journey, it is beautiful and amazing with a HUGE reward at the end.

  5. You look like I did in my first pregnancy at 23 weeks, but now I look like you already at 12 weeks! It’s crazy how much more quickly my belly is popping out. Love your updates- can you believe you’re over the half way point?

    • haha i’ve heard it takes longer for first time mommas to show – that was the case for my sister, too! and no i can’t believe how much time has passed already! 🙂

    • i have 3 bands that are all really thin so that’s helpful! and even if/when i do swell, i should still be able to wear at least one of them! 🙂

  6. Your bump is adorable! I love it when it gets round and firm- mine is almost there 🙂 It feels so much like pregnancy should. So glad you are feeling well, too. At 22 weeks, I’m soaking up this sweet spot of pregnancy before 3rd tri hits 😉

    Love following along your journey!

  7. Stay warm!!! I’ve been thinking about your area of the country alot. I couldn’t imagine experiencing temperatures that far below in the negative. Wow is all I can say. You look radiant as ever! 😀 Enjoy the days off!

  8. Wow, I wish us Canucks got days off for the cold and snow! 😉

You look beautiful, and that bumpity bump bump is too cute!
I can’t believe how cold it is for yous down there! Keep that baby boy warm 😉
