Hi and happy beginning of turkey week to all my U.S. friends! My weekend highlights include all of my favorite things: family, friends, and food. I’ll give you a play by play:
Friday night: We celebrated my older brother Jason’s birthday with a sushi dinner (his favorite!). My parents took us out, and while sushi dinner these days looks a bit different than in the past for me, it was still fun.
Obviously I did not actually have the mango sake shot that the waitress brought us.
Instead of enjoying the raw fish sushi filled platter that was ordered, I had edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, and a vegetable roll. Oh, and I definitely had a few spoonfuls of fried ice cream that was served in celebration of Jason’s birthday.
Saturday day: It was a productive day as I spent it grocery shopping, cleaning our house, doing laundry, and preparing for a small dinner party with our friends in the evening.
I’m linking up with Katie’s Marvelous in my Monday today!
Seriously, I’m not sure if I’ll ever make another dessert. These are so good. And since the recipe makes an enormous batch (and halving the recipe would just make no sense), there were tons of leftovers
for breakfast to share with my in-laws and coworkers.
Sunday day: Didn’t feel so hot; woke up pretty congested, chest burning, and sore throat. I stayed in my pajamas in bed extra long, made warm water with lemon and honey, and broke out the humidifier.
I also lathered myself with Breathe Respiratory Blend essential oil which made my chest feel immensely better. I poured a few drops on a cotton ball, and put it on the outside of the humidifier, so it got diffused in the air. And I used a drop or two of Lemon essential oil on a spoon full of honey which was very soothing for my throat. I promise that these oils are better (and more natural) than traditional medicine. Side note: I’m a consultant for dōTERRA and would love to help you get started, if you’re interested. dōTERRA’s oils are all certified pure therapeutic grade. They’re the best! Let me know.
After laying around all day, I mustered up the energy to head to my parents where my mom helped me bake over three dozen cookies for the Food Bloggers Cookie Swap. You’ll have to wait a couple of weeks in order to find out the recipe, but here’s a sneak peek:
Sunday night: Dinner with the in-laws! They took us out to Bristol where I had a hot bowl of lobster bisque which was delicious, especially during this frigid weather we’re having!
What were your weekend highlights?
