16 Weeks Pregnant | 4 Months

I’m 16 weeks pregnant (well, technically seventeen tomorrow!).  When did that happen?  I can’t believe that I can now say, “4 months!”  Everyone says time will fly by, and baby itz true, and this is just the beginning.  I’ve got my sixteen week picture for you though itz not as professional as my first two.  I kind of figured having my sister take them each and every week was too tall of an order, but that’s alright.  Life is busy, and when she can do it, that’ll be all the better.  For now, enjoy Jonny’s amateur photography skills, our bad lighting, my poor editing, and my growing belly! 🙂

16 weeks

Told ya it wasn’t professional-grade, but there sure is a baby in there, eh?!?! 🙂

Baby Itz: 16 Weeks

Baby’s size? Avocado.

Maternity clothes? Still not wearing any, but sometimes the button on my pants feels a bit restricting…

Stretch marks? Nope.

Sleep: Sleep has been much better!  I wake up between one and three times each night to pee, but besides that I’ve been able to fall asleep pretty quickly and stay asleep or fall back asleep when I do wake up.

Best moment this week: When I was Facetiming with my niece Audrey, and right when she saw me, she said, “Baby!”  She loves Baby Itz more than anyone already!

Miss anything? Nope.  Sometimes when people talk/ask me about my pregnancy, I have to stop and think for a second that yes, people actually do know now.  I had kept it a secret for so long that now that itz out (and has been for a month) it almost feels weird talking about it so openly and often!  But of course I love it.  And not sure why I wrote this under the “miss anything” category; I certainly don’t miss keeping the secret!

Movement: Still pretty early for that.

Food Cravings: Nope – glad to say my eating is back to normal… with the exception of eating more and more often.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope.

Gender: A few more weeks and we will know!!!

Labor Signs: None.

Symptoms: Honestly, none!  At my doctor appointment last week, she asked how I was feeling and if I was experiencing any symptoms, and I reported everything was great.  She told me that it would only get better from here.  Awesome!

Belly Button – in or out?  In.

Wedding Rings – on or off? On!

Happy or Moody? Happy happy!

Looking Forward To: Finding out if we’re going to do pink or blue for Baby Itz!

Did / will you find out the sex of your baby?  Reasons why or why not?

  1. Love reading these each week!!! We found out for both of our children…I’m far too anal to not know…I mean there are colors and nurseries to plan and let’s not forget the monogramming that needs to happen!! 🙂

  2. We found out with both of ours their gender mainly because my husband can’t stand not knowing. We will DEFINITELY be finding out if we end up going for a 3rd since the anxiety of knowing whether or not he would be a dad to three girls or get a boy would probably kill him ha.

  3. With both our kiddos, we found out the sex but kept the name a surprise. We has the ultrasound tech write down the sex on a card and seal it in an envelope. Then we went out to dinner and celebrated as we opened the card to find out! 🙂 Awwww….I’m getting mushy just thinking about it!! Enjoy this special time in your lives. Itz AWESOME!!!

  4. You look amazing!! We did not find out the sex of either of our babies. I’m still very happy with that decision (13 and 10 years later). When my 2nd was born, I think everyone assumed I knew he was a boy that no one said anything when he came out. I looked up and saw what I needed to see and was the one who announced “it’s a boy”. That was awesome.

  5. I am very fair away from having a baby (no wedding ring yet! haha :)) But I want to be surprised by the sex. I was a surprise for my parent’s and they always fondly recall the suspense of not knowing so I think I’ll go that route…even though knowing would probably be much easier to plan a nursery and a big reveal 🙂 That being said, I’m stoked to see your big reveal 🙂

  6. So glad you’re feeling so well!

We found of the sex with Hailey and I’m so glad because I thought she was a boy. It was nice to know and bond and get excited with my little girl!

We will find out this time too. In fact, we have the sex written down in an envelope and taped to our fridge. We found out early because I had to do emetic testing. We haven’t opened it yet. We are letting the excitement build! 🙂

  7. You look so cute! We found out with my son and I’m so glad we did. I’m such a planner that I don’t think I could have gone without knowing. I think it’s great when others do though. It’s fun to live through the excitement with them.
I’m sure someone told you this already but when your pants start getting tighter put a small elastic hair band around the button and through the loop to extend them a little. I did that for months through my pregnancy!

  8. 4 months already?! We tried to not find out the sex to our 1st child. But we sucked at that. broke down when the doctor asked if we wanted to know. haha. but i was right on my gut feeling. with both my kids.

  9. Happy it’s going so well for you! We didn’t find out with either of our children what the sex was before hand. I thought for sure I would want to know but I liked the surprise in the delivery room. I find though that more and more people are finding out before hand these days, and that too has it’s own kind of excitement!

  10. I haven’t had a chance to comment on any of your baby posts so I figured it’s better late than never! 🙂 I’m so happy for you, you are absolutely glowing! I’m so excited to read your journey 🙂

  11. I can hardly believe its already 4 months! You’re looking great and so glad you’re feeling great too. I felt fabulous and loved every minute when pregnant with Makenzie. Never had any issues. Hope the same for you and your pregnancy! 🙂
