I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that I’m totally and completely driven by competition.  Whether itz through team sports, individual sports, or merely competing against the guy on the treadmill next to me, I like to compete.  I like to go faster, I like to go stronger, I like to be better.  I even like competing against myself.  I like trying to beat my previous time, speed, or form.  Itz fun.  Ask anyone who knows me and I’m pretty sure they’ll tell you the same.  I’ve created a freakin’ awesome workout.  Sorry, but it is.  Itz tough and there’s plenty of competition.  You can compete against yourself or your gym buddy.  Itz The PUMANATOR Workout!


Here’s the deal: you do 15 reps of each exercise.  If itz an exercise that is done on both sides of the body, then you do 15 reps on each side.  I like counting single reps, so the moves that require both sides I count to 30.  Those include: step-ups, walking lunges, mountain climbers, skaters, renegade rows, and side plank with hip dips.  To make it more challenging, use weights.  I used a set of 15-pound dumbbells on the step-ups, walking lunges, bench press, air squats, and renegade rows.  And if you need a visual of any of the exercises, they are in the same order in the graphic below.

Do the PUMANATOR one time through for time, fully recover, and do it again trying to beat your previous time.  There’s the competition piece.  🙂  Or you can compete against your gym buddy while still maintaining correct form to ensure safety, of course.  My times were: 8:02, 7:37, 7:16.  The first time through I was just trying to finish.  The second time through I was consciously trying to beat my time.  The third time through… I was just speedy.  My friend Diana and I did this workout together and we were laughing as we were literally crawling to our mats after finishing the renegade rows to begin the side plank with hip dips.  It was brutal.

  1. Those pants are interesting. I’ve never had to roll on workout pants before, haha. Are they still comfortable even when you start sweating? I love the color of the shoes.

    • they are still comfortable when i’m sweating! i seriously can’t even tell that the tape is in there until i put them on or take them off! they don’t budge!

    I haven’t got my hands on any Puma gear as of late, but I used to have some when I was younger!

    • actually they’re not hot!! i was pretty sweaty by the time i was done with my workout but i think that was because of my workout not the pants. i definitely didn’t FEEL hot in them!

    • lol i totally compete against people when they don’t know! the mental dialogue in my head is hilarious. just better not let any comments slip out – ha!
