What did YOU do this weekend? I did a whole lotta nothin’ and I absolutely loved it! Last week was a busy one, so when I noticed we had no plans on the docket for the weekend, I was excited. Sometimes low key weekends are just what you need to recharge. Of course, I still kept up with my active healthy living lifestyle because that’s just what I do, but besides that, it was low key which was marvelous!
Katie is revealing the gender of her baby today, so be sure to check out her very special Marvelous in my Monday post! I can’t wait to find out if itz a Diva Baby or Rocker Baby!
Friday night consisted of take-out dinner from The Cheesecake Factory (Luau Salad for me, Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp for him, Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple cheesecake to share), and then I made my students’ Valentine’s Day cards. I’m a hippie at heart, so I bought the peace sign box of valentines that come with temporary tattoos. (How cool, right??) And being the teacher I am, I also attached a valentine pencil. Heh heh. My Friday night was SO exciting!
Saturday morning I awoke bright and chipper and headed to my favorite bikram yoga class. When it was over, the class cleared out pretty quickly, so I ran to the locker room, grabbed my phone, and snuck a couple of photos in the steamy room.
The rest of Saturday was super low key. I ran a couple of errands, came home (yes, I showered), and relaxed with the hubby. We ordered take out again which is very rare for us, but we had gift cards to be used. This time we went with Charlie Gitto’s where I ordered the Chicken Nunzio (chicken topped with crab!) and Jonny ordered the Rigatoni With Sausage (awesome sauce for dipping!). After paying for dinner, Jonny noticed there was just a few dollars left on our gift card, so he spent the remainder on Cookies and Cream gelato.
I was very happy. There was a lot of “Mmm” and “This is so good!” going on. Real gelato, baby, can’t beat it! Saturday night was met with another early bedtime which was just fine with us. After a good night’s sleep, I woke early and headed to another awesome bikram yoga class.
Starting my day with yoga was absolutely perfect. The team I coach was supposed to have our first soccer game yesterday, but it ended up getting rained out. Instead, I grocery shopped, caught up on laundry, worked on report cards, did lots of meal prep, and ate a delicious dinner with the in-laws. Oh, and finished the weekend with a tasty bowl of fro yo! 3 desserts in 3 days? Yes! A marvelous low key weekend, indeed!
Do you workout during low key weekends? What was marvelous about your weekend?

I NEEEED TO FIND ME AN OAKLAND Bikram class.
stat.
for my mind and for my back
You could come to St. Louis and I’d happily take you to my bikram place!! #problemsolved
Low key weekends are the best!!! I’m not the biggest fan of hot yoga but I actually want to try a bikram class! The heat just scares me
It scared me at first, too. You just have to get through your next class so you know what to expect next time! (All classes are the same and follow the same sequence which I have found very helpful!)
I miss yoga! LOVE GELATO.
Can’t ever go wrong with gelato!
Chicken with crab? I’ve never heard of those two protein types being mixed together Sounds good though
I love crab so anything that involves it is a winner in my book!
Oh man, this makes me a crave a good yoga class. I have GOT to find a good studio in this area that won’t completely run my bank account dry!
Check for Groupons!
I FREAKING LOVE YOU! You are seriously one of my favourite people in the entire world, Lindsay! I love you and your body as well
I don’t care how creepy that sounds – IT’S TRUEEEEE <3

What a great weekend, indeed! I have yet to try gelato…that needs to go at the top of my to-do list!!
omg itz heaven!
Yea! Sometimes those low-key weekends are the best, especially when sprinkled with good workouts & yum eats! Happy Monday!
For sure! Those are my ultimate weekends!
Low key weekends are the best for recharging the batteries. I have to say though, if I were you, I think I would have spent the entire giftcard on many cartons of gelato. It looks to-die-for.
Haha it was really good!!
Love that warrior pose!
hehe itz my favorite!
Sounds perfect – and what awesome bikram photos! i always wish i could get some in there:)
That’s why we need to take a class together! Then we could be creepsters in the room together and take photos of each other ha!
Sounds like a nice relaxing weekend! Sometimes those are the best! I haven’t tried Bikram but am keeping my eye out for a Groupon or Living Social Deal in my area!
Def! Get through your first class and go back for a second one no matter what you thought of the first!
I miss yoga!!! I need to take a class, just for me. You are so sweet with those valentine’s!
Itz def worth the splurge!
Your cheesecake, gelato, and fro yo are making me starving. Your yoga pictures are awesome
I have really gotten off track with my practice and I need to get back into it. Have an awesome day!
I go in spurts with yoga too! I’m def on a kick right now!
Loving it!
We had an extremely laid back weekend which was awesome! I did manage to workout on Saturday but it wasn’t anything compared to your yoga. I think it’s so great that you love it. It’s such a detoxifying thing!
You go!
Agreed! And hey working out on Saturday being preggo like you is a great accomplishment!! Go YOU!!
So happy to see all your yoga at the weekend Linz, what a great way to relax off a hard week. Your amazing abs have definitely inspired me to get back to Bikram class! Happy Monday!
Thanks, Claire!
So sweet!!
I do workout on lowkey weekends, which I love because I don’t feel rushed! I had a great lowkey weekend too, which consisted of a good mix of doing things and relaxing. I love weekends like that!
Not feeling rushed is definitely one of my favorite things about the weekends!!
I love relaxing weekends! That Gelato looks heavenly! I have had a four day weekend due to the northeast blizzard. It has been marvelous to catch up on sleep. I have been adding more yoga into my life this year. I am thinking of purchasing a Bikram groupon. This weekend I tried out my new Tara Stiles yoga DVD. I love your Valentine’s Day goodies for your students.
What grade do you teach? Hope you have a great rest of the week.
I teach third grade!
Oooh and I love my Tara Stiles yoga DVDs!!
I used to teach 3rd grade! This year I moved up to middle school. I am hoping to drop into Tara Stiles’s NY studio next week!
I find low key weekends the BEST time to get in a good workout. No pressure and able to really enjoy it. PS – your body rocks.
Thanks, Tina!
You look so amazing, just so you know! Beautiful and healthy body! <3
YUM to that gelato, kind of wish I had right now! I could use so cold on my throat! Feeling so yuck :p
Love you girl!
I wish I could bring you some gelato!! I bet Mike would….

I LOVE low key weekends

Low key weekends are the best! I just recently started reading your blog and I love it!! You seem so well-balanced and fulfilled and happy
I love that you have a healthy and moderate approach to healthy living (if that even makes sense haha) and you look amazing!! Happy Monday!
Thanks, Alexandra!! You’re so sweet and I appreciate your comment!!
I love a good low key weekend! Especially ones involving lots of dessert.
My weekend was marvelous because I got together with friends to cook dinner, went to the farmer’s market with a friend, and spent a lot of time relaxing!
Cooking with friends is so fun!! And you girls made AWESOME dishes!!
Mmmm…gelato is the ultimate treat! I love that stuff. Sometimes low key weekends are just what we need!
I definitely love those weekends!
Me too!! This weekend is looking to be super low key too. Yay!! haha
Aww I miss being little when it comes to Valentine’s day. Everyone HAD to get you candy! I usually work out at least one of my weekend days but it usually isn’t as intense as my work week sessions for some reason.
Everyone still does candy, trust me! That’s why I do pencils haha
My family ate at the Cheesecake Factory this weekend too. The menu is huge but I ended up with a skinny mojito and ahi capraccio or thinly sliced ahi tuna.
The menu is MASSIVE! I don’t love the restaurant but with gift cards will def eat there!
