Healthy Living Excitement in St. Louis

Itz the weekend – my favorite part of the week!  I’ve got some fun weekend plans ahead, so I thought I’d share them with you because I’m pretty excited about them.  Nothing too major, but many of them involve healthy living in St. Louis.

Lift weights at the gym.  I’ve put together what I think is a fun new strength training workout.  If itz good, I’ll be sure to share with you next week.

St. Louis Bloggers meet up!  Ces and Judy’s Catering has been kind enough to host a group of us St. Louis bloggers for dinner.  I’m excited to see old blends, meet new blends, and hang out with fun people (and of course eat good food!).  Last night, Clare from Fitting It All In and I went to a social media event.

Thanks for the picture, Clare!

Along with several new tips at the social media event, I learned of a new-to-me blog: The Cubicle Chick.  Written by Danyelle, she has made blogging her full-time job and shared a lot of worthwhile information.

Breakfast with Caitlin.  My best friend Caitlin is in town for the weekend and I’m excited to spend some time with her (and again: eat some good food!).  She’s my most fabulous friend and we always have the best time together whether itz drinking coffee, running, or dancing the night away.

Bikram yoga.  I will take a bikram class (or two!) this weekend.  Last weekend it got put on hold due to my new hair, but I’m definitely getting to a class.  I still have nine classes left at Bikram Yoga Chesterfield thanks to my Groupon and my first class there was awesome, so I’m looking forward to another sweat session.

Farmer’s Market trip.  Itz been over a month since my last trip to the farmer’s market, so that must change this weekend!  The farmer’s market is my favorite spot to buy fresh produce.  They’ve got great deals and such variety.

Spending time with my boo.  Yes, this counts as healthy living!  Healthy living includes healthy relationships and surrounding yourself with people who make you feel good, and that’s just what Jonny does! xoxo

Waking up with no alarm.  During the work week I wake up at 5:00 in the morning.  Itz no problem for me, but sleeping in always feels so darn good.  And sleep is a major factor in living a healthy life!

Batch cooking.  I do find enjoyment in setting time aside on Sunday to prepare healthy meals and foods for the week.  I clean and cut produce, cook beans, sometimes chicken, and set myself up for the week ahead.

Sidenote: The winner of the Oakley Sunglasses giveaway is #59 Danica @ It’s Progression. Congratulations!  Please e-mail me (, so we can get you your sunglasses to you ASAP.  Thank you to Sunglasses Shop and everyone who entered.  More great giveaways coming your way… Stay on the lookout! 🙂

How are you living healthy this weekend? What are you excited about?

  1. I have going to start using Sunday to prepare meals before hand, I am hoping it will give me some extra time during the week!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. It sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. I have a get-away weekend planned for the hubs and I starting this afternoon! We both need a healthy dose of a weekend filled with no chores or responsibilites. I can’t wait 🙂

  3. Sounds like an absolutely fabulous weekend! My plans include a small town 10miler (only a 115 runners-maybe I will actually place!) with my Boo and one of my best workout friends!

    • YES!! Come try a session!! Let’s discuss tonight. And roller derby?! Definitely need to discuss. I think Soulard has the best Farmer’s Market in STL.

  4. What a fun weekend to be had!! Sounds like so much excitement and good times! Have the best time! I’m not too sure what I’ll be doing yet, probably hanging a little with friends and some nice relaxation!

  5. I’m living healthy this weekend by waking up early tomorrow morning to go lift weights before I have to go to work. I am excited though because it’s also my husband’s birthday & we have dinner reservations that night in Milwaukee at a really good Brazilian Steakhouse. 🙂
