As you can tell from the title of this post, I’m in Chicago!  No, no itz not to run the Chicago Marathon, but best of luck to everyone who is!  The reason for the trip is because the University of Miami played Notre Dame and that is a BIG DEAL to my hubby Jonny.  We made the trip up here yesterday with my parents and in-laws.  The boys went to the game tonight, and us girls occupied ourselves in this windy city.  Our trip began yesterday morning at the airport.  Naturally, I had to sip on some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee at the airport while we waited for our flight.

There aren’t any Dunkin’ Donuts close to where we live, so Jonny and I always think itz a treat when we find one.  I went with the Raspberry Latte Lite.  I loved flavored coffees and coffee always tastes better on vacation.  When we arrived in Chicago, my father-in-law had arranged transportation for us from the airport to the hotel.

That’s right, limo-style!  We’re big time, baby!  And as for the hand thing: my momma always throws up her hands in the pictures, so I was just following suit.  Like mother, like daughter!  We are staying at the Talbott Hotel, and I have only positive things to report about it.  They have the largest rooms in the Chicago area, and itz a cross between feeling very homey and very luxurious.

After checking in to the hotel and unpacking, we began wandering the streets of Chicago.  We walked awhile and decided to stop for lunch at Bandera.  It was a very good choice!  They had fancy napkins with a slit to attach on to your shirt button. 

Jonny demonstrated while drinking his beer. #classy  I ordered the Macho Salad which included roasted chicken, avocado, dates, almonds, cornbread croutons, tomatoes, goat cheese, and served with a champagne vinaigrette.

It was absolutely delicious and I ate every last bite!  As for the rest of the trip?  Well, itz been absolutely marvelous, which is why I’m making you wait until tomorrow’s Marvelous Monday post.  Stay tuned!
