The Last of #HLS12

I can’t believe itz already been a week since the Healthy Living Summit!  I’ve had a lot of fun re-living it through writing my recaps and reading everyone’s fabulous blog posts.  In case you missed any, here they are in a nutshell:

For the last evening in Boston, a group of us went out to dinner at Cafe Sushi.  I wore a new dress, and was so sad it was our last night together!

Afterwards, we finished off the evening with a sweet treat which is my kind of night!

Sunday morning was a casual 5K run/walk with anyone and everyone who was interested.  Optional 5K at the Healthy Living Summit – what do YOU think the turnout was?

It was a lovely run along the river with a magnificent view.

We jogged at a casual pace chatting away happily.  My roomie Chelsea wasn’t sure about running it, but I convinced her to at least run the first mile with me, then we could always walk.  Well, she made it the whole way and for that she gets this week’s high-five!

I think there were several factors which made this run enjoyable.  The nice view along the river, the temperature was cool, and the chatter was strong which took the focus off running.

You rocked it, Chels!  And taking a brief break while paused at a stoplight is the perfect photo opp!  I only wish I had this kind of running group back home all the time!

Do you run with a group or a partner?  Where’s the best place you’ve ever run?

  1. I walked but am regretting that I didn’t run with the bigger group!! It looked like a lot of fun! I love the dress you wore Saturday- it looks amazing! Wish we had the opportunity to chat more at the the summit!

  2. Super cute dress! I love running with a group. Right now, I am running 3 times a week with 3 of my best friends. Running together allows us to a) catch up each other’s lives and b) push each other during the run – we encourage each other to not give up when the run gets hard!

  3. AWWWWWWWW HOW SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this post Linz! Thanks for participating and this is so meaningful for Chels, too :) I miss you sooooo much!

  4. Awww I have the biggest grin on my face right now! Thank you girl! :D I had such a great time on that run and I am giving YOU a high 5 back for rocking your run streak and being such a great motivator. I wish you were my running buddy all the time! <3

  5. I love running partners, but it’s usually me and my audiobook. My favorite place to run is San Francisco. My favorite running view is Colorado. I hope to make it my favorite place to run, when I’m stronger on hills. :)

  6. I run with a group on my long runs. It’s always great to have the support of others, especially when you are tired and can have someone else set the pace. On shorter runs and most of my other runs, I run solo.

FYI: that dress looks very fancy. Thanks for the recap and coverage. Hope you learned a lot!

    • Thanks! :) I have got to find a group here in St. Louis to run with. I haven’t even been on any long runs lately because I just don’t feel like doing them alone! (and I’m not training for anything currently)

  7. I loved the dress! You looked stunning! I like to run by myself..When I run with someone, I feel compelled to keep talking..and that’s no fun when I’m out of breath..I usually like to listen to music and just…run

  8. Love the dress. It’s adorable!!! Whered you get it from?

I’ll always run by myself, unless the hubs joins in ((which is never since we’ve moved to Kuwait and he works a ridiculous amount of hours haha).

    • It’s from a really cheapy store called Love Culture…(??) I def enjoy my runs alone, but running with a partner or group is just totally different!
