Travel Essentials

Tomorrow I’ll be on my way to Cancun, Mexico!  I figured I’d show you a couple of pictures of what I consider to be travel essentials.

Blogging Essentials: computer + charger, camera + charger, iPhone (not pictured) + charger

I am going to do my best to blog while I am away because it is something I enjoy and I look forward to showing you how to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle while on vacay.

Beach Essentials: Kindle, Fitness Magazine, Women’s Health, plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, and tanning goggles

I love to read, and plan on doing a lot while on the beach!  Itz always important to protect your eyes, and yes, I really do wear tanning goggles.  The bright sun hurts my eyes, even when they’re closed, so I always liek to have them covered.  We are bringing an ample amount of sunscreen since protecting your skin is so important, and that is definitely not something we want to run out of.

Fitness Essentials: iPod + charger, headphones, Garmin Forerunner + charger, Spibelt, Banjee wrist wallet

While it is vacation and I plan on doing my fair share of relaxing, I know I’ll want to stay active, too.  Exercising is something I genuinely enjoy doing and when I have no schedule to follow, I usually do a great deal of moving.  I’m hoping there will be some fitness classes to take, as I love group exercise classes!  I looked up pictures of the fitness facility and since the resort is moderately new, it looks AWESOME!

I’m bringing my colorful Banjee wrist wallet that I won from Heather which will be perfect to store my room card/key.  I’m also bringing my Spibelt in case I want to take along my camera or phone.

Obviously, I’m taking plenty of clothes, shoes, swimsuits, and underwear, but this post would be way too long if I showed you all that.

While I still have today left to pack, am I forgetting any travel essentials?  What are your travel essentials?  Any good book suggestions for my Kindle?

  1. Have you read those 2 magazines yet? The hubs just brought them home for me yesterday and I’m dying to read them… the thing is, I gotta get through my other ones first.

Have a great time in Cancun girl. You’re going to have so much fun!! :)

  2. Have such a great time in Cancun!! I am with you that even while on vacation, I like to stay active, too. There is no reason NOT to..especially when you have a state of the art fitness center in Cancun!! My travel essentials are always Kashi Granola Bars, 100 calorie packs of almonds, and tons of packets of oatmeal. I call it my “snack bag” and I do not travel without it!

  3. I love reading magazines on the beach too! Also I like to bring a mindless book to read – one that is light hearted and doesn’t require too much thinking! ;)

Have an awesome trip girl! I can’t wait to hear all about it!

  4. I would bring a water bottle so you can fill it up in the airport – but once you are in Mexico I would stick to tap water. And of course bring some yummy plane snacks :)

  5. Just enjoy your holiday sister! Don’t worry too much about exercise ;) I know you enjoy it, but oh – vacation <3 just take it as the day goes :D

Looks like you have everything to me, babe!

I love you! SO EXCITED FOR YOUR TRIP! <3

  6. AHHHHH SO excited for you!!!!!!

These look like great essentials–most of ‘em are similar for me ;) I like reading magazines and good books on the beach too.

Some recent ones I’ve loved reading- “Divergent” “Graceling” “the Book Thief” “Hunger Games” (duh), anything by Emily Giffin (i.e. “Something Borrowed”), and “House Rules” <–a good mix of dystopian, romance/chick lit, and action/tear jerkers!

    • Thanks for the suggestions!! I’ve read Something Borrowed and House Rules so we obviously have similar taste – I’ll check out the others! :)

  7. I’m so jealous of your trip!! I always have to pack books (or download them) and magazines for my entertainment. Right now I’m reading The Nightmare by Lars Keplar and it’s awesome! It’s his second book in a series :)
