I’m not sure if it was the handstands in CrossFit or the handstand excitement of getting new FitGear, but I sure have had handstand fever this past week! Last night we went to dinner at our friends’ house (DiAndy). After dinner, the boys went to watch tv while the girls and I tried to conduct our own photoshoot. We started with trying to take our own self-portrait.
While we all agreed that this was not an awesome picture, we decided to do something more fun. What could we do? I had the grand idea of showing off our strength and do handstands against the wall. We even got Brandon to join the fun.
Diana’s not pictured because she is still working on her upper body strength.
We tried to have Jessica hold her up… Then Jessica and Brandon tried… Then, when that didn’t work, she took matters in her own hands (errrr… on her head)…
Whatever works! She got up and stayed! (Nevermind the fact she used the dog bed that was over ten years old and quite possibly has never been washed.) Next, we decided to get really fancy with our handstands. We made several attempts for all the girls to do handstands (or headstands) against the wall simultaneously.
When that didn’t work, we took the action to the basement where we had more room and carpet. Jessica and I devised a plan where we would both do handstands up against each other. Brandon would facilitate the process matching our legs and feet together and then step out of the way for the actual photo to be shot. Seriously, what were we thinking? Who did we think we were? And how old are we?
Clearly, it didn’t work, but we sure had fun and no one got hurt (a couple of bruises and popping elbows don’t count). We’ll continue to work on our fitness and balance for our next photoshoot dinner party.
I think we all get high-fives for doing/attempting headstands on a Thurday night!
Speaking of high-fives, let’s talk some High Five Friday with the Megster!
I’m giving myself a high-five for continuing RW Run Streak! That’s right – I’m still doing it! This means I’ve run a mile or more each day since Memorial Day! I’m not sure how long it’ll last, but I figure I’ll go for as long as I can. Itz a fun streak!
Can YOU do a handstand? What do you and your friends do at dinner parties?

Best night ever! Had so much fun last night, glad everyone was able to come over. When I finish the live fit program in 6 weeks, I will be able to do a handstand! Have a great weekend!
Haha thanks again for dinner! You’ll get the handstand soon, my dear – I still think you can!
Haha,I love how you’ve had so much fun together,Linz!
When I was thriteen or so,I was the BEST at doing handstands… Don’t know how it is today, haha

hahaha, love this!! not many people could turn doing handstands into something fun. but yall managed it
have a great weekend!!
We sure did! Couldn’t stop laughing!
Looks like fun! I haven’t tried a handstand since I have been doing crossfit. I’m kinda terrified. I’m sure I’ll so it… just gotta find that inner beast and unleash it!
Ah! I’m sure you CAN do one!! Find a wall and hop on up!
I haven’t tried to do a handstand in ages, but they did them in my yoga class the other day (I opted out) and I’ve been wanting to see if I can still do one at home. I used to be a pro when I did gymnastics!
You’ve got to try – we were all dying with laughter!!
LOVE all the headstand photos! Ain’t nothing wrong with a pillow (or 2 bolsters in my case) to get you upside down! Inversions make the best party tricks
Modifying is always ok!!
Hahaha. LOVE this! You guys are hilarious.
I actually love doing handstands (against a wall). Gotta try this for my next dinner party……
I’ve been obsessed with them lately!! You should make others do them with you at your next dinner party – it really is fun! haha
Um, I have to say: I have NEVER done a handstand at a dinner party. I have not lived.
Yeah, you’ve gotta get on that!
So cute! I used to do this at my grandmothers house when I was little. My sister, cousins, and I would all get out pillows and line them up against the wall and see who could stay up the longest. You might have inspired my morning brain break! Guess who’s dog is going to be giving her funny looks later on???
Thats right…..this girl!

Haha my dog ran all around me when I was doing them at my house and me and my cousins def used to do stuff like this!!

You’re the one who started my streak!! xoxo
Now that’s something I can be proud of – yay!!
Haha you guys are hilarious
Oops! I pressed post comment before I was done writing it!
Sometimes my friends and I break out into random dance parties when we hang out together, but we’ve never tried handstands. I don’t even know if I can do one anymore!
Ummm random dance party in Boston, please??? (Then we can do handstands – heck, we can incorporate handstance IN the dance parties!) haa
I have never attempted a handstand. But after reading your post, I want to rush home and try one! Lol! When my friends and I get together for dinner parties, we wind up busting out Just Dance on the Wii. Hilarity always ensues!
Oooh I’ve never done Just Dance on the Wii but that would be fun too!!
Haha I have never been too successful at them! You guys are good
Practice – you’ll get better! haha
Oh wow! Looks like so much fun!!!!
Our silly selves did have a grand time!
