An Eco-Friendly Giveaway {CLOSED}

I’ve been absent from the blogosphere the entire weekend as I stood next to my best friend as she married the love of her life on Saturday.  But I’m back now!  The weekend was extremely packed, and extremely fun.  I’ll give you the full rundown later, but in case you missed any of the past posts, here are the links with a brief summary:

  • Kids Snacks:  I listed all of the snacks that I used during my Healthy Eating + Active Living = Happy Kids summer school class.  There are fifteen+ snack ideas that will appeal to kids, but are fast, easy, healthy, and tasty for adults, too!
  • High Five Friday: Nancy, Stephanie, & Roxie all got shout outs for being awesome.  (Read the post for the exact reasons, particularly Roxie’s amazing story and progress!)
  • Foodie Pen Pals – June:  What exactly my box of goodies entailed for this month’s FPP, as well as a short tribute to my best friend who got married.

Now that you’re caught up, let’s start with just a few reasons why Monday is marvelous!

In addition to Marevlous In My Mondays, Katie has started a new challenge!  She made a “Healthy & Happy Divas in July” challenge where you post a new picture to Instagram according to the theme of the day and tag #healthydivas.  Yesterday’s word was pink, and since I did a lot of relaxing as I was exhausted, I took a picture of my comfy, pink robe that I live in at home.  Today’s word is smile, so I posted this picture:

Not only is the dress pretty marvelous, but I’m smiling, too, so it’s kind of a double whammy!  I can’t take credit for the dress though, as my sister let me borrow it!  Isn’t it amazing??  I may have to steal borrow it again sometime…

Speaking of Instagram, if you don’t use it then you’re totally behind the times!  Just kidding, but it really is the new thing.  For all the newbies out there: Instagram is another social media platform (like Facebook and Twitter) that allows you to take, post, and share pictures.  It also is a super easy and fun way to apply various filters to pictures; you know, make a photo black and white or look like it’s a vintage pic.  Pretty marvelous, indeed!  Follow me on Instagram by finding ItzLinz.

Something else that is marvelous is how close the RWRunStreak is to the finish!  I’ve kept up with it since Memorial Day and have just a few days to finish the streak on the Fourth of July.  This weekend was a little tricky to fit in my runs since we were so busy.  However, since I’m such an early bird, I awoke before most of the other girls and got my mileage in.  Yay!  3.38 miles on Friday with another bridesmaid, 4.15 miles on Saturday (part of which was completed with the bride herself!), and just a quick mile on Sunday.

Not only does my sister have great fashion sense, she’s also an unbelievable photographer.  She specializes in newborns, but every once in awhile she needs a goregous model me to photograph one of her beautiful head pieces.

I’m wearing a headband by Crowned Embellishments.

The last absolutely marvelous item in today’s post is the Conscious Box.  I first found out about the Conscious box last winter, loved the idea, and ended up gifting a box to my parents and in-laws for the holidays.  It made for a very fun and different present!

  • My first review of the Conscious Box was in January: read here.
  • My second review of the Conscious Box was in March: read here.

What is the Conscious Box?  Conscious Box is a monthly box that is sent and filled with items that benefit you and don’t harm the environment.  I’m always preaching “Go Green!” and Conscious Box’s mission aligns with my philosophy completely.  They find companies that create pure and sustainable products; they strive to be a waste-free business.  My favorite part of Conscious Box is being introduced to products and companies that I have never heard of before.  I feel good about being a consumer to these new products and companies as I know Conscious Box does their research.

Goodies include food, drinks, beauty products, household items, and more!  Each box is filled to the brim and full of surprises.  From what I hear, July’s box is going to be exceptionally stellar… Which is exactly why Conscious Box is giving away one box to an Itz Linz reader!  Here’s what you can do to enter for your chance to win:

  1. I love the dress! I try to be planet conscious by turning off water and electricity when not necessary (brushing teeth and stuff)

  2. Hello fellow FFA! This is my first time on your blog. Love it and absolutely love the idea of the Conscious Box. I’ve heard of different boxes before but never this line. Over the past several years I’ve made some big steps to be my conscious. The biggest = going vegan. After that things started falling in place and I’ve made it part of my lifestyle to reduce my carbon footprint in all ways possible.

  3. Goodness..I’m and environmental NUT! I walk everywhere, recycle/reduce/reuse all the time and use as little electricity as possible….barely a carbon footprint but it’s always been a priority of mine. I love the earth (:

  4. My whole family makes extra effort in shutting off electric whenever possible and we do recycle as much as we can. We also do not waste water.

  5. I protect the planet by ALWAYS recycling my empty water bottles, any other plastic, cardboard, and paper. I believe that small efforts can really make a big difference.

  6. I live in Santa Cruz, CA which is a very eco-conscious area. Aside from the general recycling and reducing my carbon footprint, I try to buy local and support small businesses that have the environment in mind

  9. I always shop around for Eco friendly gifts whenever I am buying birthday and holiday presents–that way I can educate other people too!

  11. I unplug things from wall. like the extension cords from the plug-in when they are not in use especially in my daughter’s room when she is gone from the house for any length of time.

  12. I am already one of your Subscriber’s thanks for a grand email everyday…I love reading emails from you.

  13. I have tweeted the following thanks for all the chances to win this awesome prize.

  14. I’ve been recycling ever since I learned of it as a child, I am always good about turning off lights, unplugging items, and using less water. I also try to buy as many recycled goods or re-use items whenever I can.

  15. I have always made a conscious effort to recycle my plastic bottles, but lately I have also been recycling cardboard, plastic bags, and glass. Also, I have found that using the same water bottle all day long instead of drinking a new bottle every time I’m thirsty is saving my wallet and helping with the environment.

  16. I would LOVE to win this. I consider myself to be a bit of a treehugger and have many ways I help the earth – reusable bags, pure soaps lotions and shampoos, organic as much as possible, a public transportation user, and we take our recycling to my bf’s parent’s place since our apartment doesn’t have recycling service.
