Gliding

I hope all you wonderful mommas out there had a lovely Mother’s Day!  We had a fun day over here as we went to brunch at my in-laws and out to dinner with my family.  For brunch, I was in charge of dessert, so I made Oatmeal Peanut Butter Banana Cookies and Chocolate Dipped Frozen Yogurt Bites.

Both were delicious and well-liked by all.  The cookies were a bit too soft and kept falling apart; I think I needed to cook them a little bit longer, but they tasted delicious!  I love that they use no butter and just a little oil.  I dipped some of the frozen yogurt bites into regular chocolate and some into white chocolate and obviously dunked them all in sprinkles.  You know I love my sprinkles!  I also made half the batch with strawberry Chobani.  You could do so many fun combinations with the recipe – I love it and itz a perfect cool summer treat!

Have you ever seen or used these things?

These seemingly innocent looking purple circles are anything but innocent!  When I went to the kick butt workout class yesterday, these Gliding Discs were brought out.  First, we had to get in a plank position, put the gliders underneath our feet, and pull ourselves across the basketball court using our arms.  Then, we had to go backwards to get back to our starting point.  Holy arm and ab burn!  I could not even make it half the distance before I had to stop and take a break (many times).  Going backward was definitely easier than forward, but it was still a challenge.  When we got back, we had to do 20 of these beasts.

It was hard.  Really hard.  And that was just a smidgen of the total 60 minute conditioning class.  Then, this morning I met a girl at the gym to workout together.  We often see each other at the 5:30 am time and this past weekend she asked if we could do a leg workout together.

Since I was still feeling sore a few days later from my Lower Body Jump Rope Superset Workout, I knew that’d be a good one to do.  I welcomed the Monday workout buddy since Mondays are the hardest days for me to get out of bed so early.  (Funny how I don’t have that problem on the weekends…)  So I made it to the gym and now get to be sore for another three days.  :)

Have you ever used the glider discs?
